Massachusetts Poker Player and Media Personality Bernard Lee Presents TV Version of Poker Radio Show to Celebrate Fifth Anniversary May Shows to Feature Poker Pros Chris Moneymaker, Dennis Phillips and Phil Hellmuth
BOSTON, Mass. —Professional poker player and media personality Bernard Lee will this month introduce a televised version of The Bernard Lee Poker Show to celebrate its fifth anniversary. Three episodes of the show, each featuring a superstar in the poker world, will air on Comcast SportsNet New England and DirectTV starting May 7.
Lee, a Wayland resident, has won nearly $2 million and three titles on the tournament circuit. The Harvard University and Babson College graduate worked as a senior marketing/new business development manager at a Massachusetts Fortune 500 company before finishing 13th — New England’s top finisher — in the 2005 World Series of Poker. Recognized as “the voice of poker in New England” by Cardplayer.com, Lee is known worldwide as a poker media personality.
The televised version of The Bernard Lee Poker Show will air Monday nights at 8:30 p.m. with repeats on Sunday afternoons at 1:30 p.m. The May schedule is as follows:
The televised version of The Bernard Lee Poker Show coincides with the launch of the Bernard Lee Poker YouTube channel, http://www.youtube.com/user/bernardleepoker. The shows, with additional outtakes, will be posted to the YouTube channel one week after their televised premieres. The audio version of the show will air from 6 to 7 p.m. on Tuesdays in Massachusetts. The show is broadcast, typically live, on 1120AM (Boston), 970AM (Worcester) and 1390AM (Cape Cod) on the Money Matters Radio Network. “Bernard has been a great asset to the Money Matters Radio Network through the years. As New England's top professional poker player, we enjoy sharing his expertise and insight into the world of poker each and every week and congratulate him on a great milestone,” said Dave Cullinane, the network’s general manager.
The Bernard Lee Poker Show is simulcast on Rounders Radio, www.roundersradio.com, the largest online poker talk radio station in the world with listeners in more than 85 countries. Finally, the show is also available via podcast on iTunes.
The show incorporates interviews with poker players and prominent industry personnel with poker news and tips as well. Previous guests have included WSOP champions Doyle Brunson, Chris Moneymaker, Pius Heinz, Jonathan Duhamel, Joseph Hachem, Greg Raymer, Peter Eastgate, Joe Cada and Phil Hellmuth; WPT commentator Mike Sexton; ESPN commentators Norman Chad and Lon McEachern; poker superstars Daniel Negreanu, Erik Seidel, Dennis Phillips, Annie Duke and Jason Mercier; and every member of the 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011 WSOP November Nine.
Lee is co-host of ESPN.com’s weekly online poker show, “ESPN Inside Deal,” and is a poker columnist for the Boston Herald, ESPN.com, Card Player magazine and other media outlets. He has released two books, The Final Table, Volume I and Volume II, which are compilations of his Sunday Boston Herald poker columns. He is also a poker instructor and a poker commentator for the WSOP and New England’s Eastern Poker Tour.
